Hands-on score 4.0 / 5Editor score 4.0 / 5

This NBA T-shirt is a black, loose-cut cotton crew-neck with a red-and-white graphic reading BULLS above the number 23. It is listed at USD 5.07 against a USD 5.33 original price, marked in stock, and offered in sizes S through 5XL across four colorways. Our desk ordered one through the same agent route readers use and ran it through the standard bench and wear checks.

What arrived and how we checked it

One black tee, folded, with no accessories in the parcel. On the bench we inspected it at 2x magnification for stitching density at the shoulder and hem, the finish on the neckline seam, the print edges, and any obvious skew in graphic placement. We then logged flat chest, body length, sleeve and shoulder measurements and garment weight, and compared the cut with a retail cotton crew-neck in the same labelled size that we keep on the shelf as a fit baseline.

Fabric, print and construction

The listing names cotton as the main fabric component and specifies pure cotton, with breathability given as the fabric function. No further composition breakdown is published, so we can report only what the listing states plus what the garment does on the bench. The print is the visual centre of the shirt: solid red lettering and numerals with white outlines, sitting on black. Ours showed no cracking or lifting at the edges after one cold hand-wash and an air dry, though a single wash is not a durability verdict.

Construction is basic and tidy for the price: a ribbed crew neckline, short regular sleeves, and a straight hem with a single row of stitching. Nothing on our sample suggested a dense heavyweight build — the hand feel is light, matching the listing's "thin" description more than a packed 250g knit, which is why we would confirm the variant before ordering.

Fit: our measurements against a retail baseline

CheckOur result on the size L we orderedAgainst our retail L baseline
Flat chest (pit to pit)55 cmAbout 4 cm wider, so the loose cut is real rather than marketing
Body length (high shoulder point)72 cmBroadly on par; the hem sits at mid-fly on a 178 cm frame
Shoulder seam50 cmDrops just past the shoulder point
Sleeve length from shoulder seam21 cmEnds mid-bicep with no roll required
Garment weight274 gReads as a mid-weight cotton tee, not a heavy one

Those figures describe the single unit we received. Because the listing publishes no flat chest or length chart, the same numbers are the quickest thing to request from your agent if you want to match the tee to something you already own.

Wear test: 20 minutes, then four hours

We wore the shirt for a 20-minute walk in Hong Kong humidity, then for a four-hour wear session on a different day, logging shoulder seam position, hem drop, neckline recovery and collar stretch after removal. The neckline returned to shape each time, the hem stayed level rather than riding up, and the shoulders did not pull across the chest when reaching forward. The loose cut lets the fabric move with you instead of clinging, which is what we want from a summer pullover, but it also reads as relaxed rather than fitted.

The sizing discussion we could not verify

"I got the bedazzled one and a medium fits like a large. Really nice shirt though."

That comment comes from a discussion of NBA-licensed championship tees, and it is a statement about the category, not about this shirt. We hold it at low confidence: a good reason to ask for measurements, not a reason to size down on its own. If your agent can supply flat chest and body length for your chosen size, compare those numbers with a tee you already wear and settle the question yourself.

Which variant you are actually ordering

Four colorways are listed, and they are not the same garment. Two are described as 250g heavyweight pure cotton — black and white, both carrying the bu23 graphic. Two are described as 200g — white and black, with the 23 graphic. The style is also labelled thin, which sits oddly beside a 250g option, so confirm both weight and graphic variant before paying. Price, size range and availability are identical across the run.

What we would confirm before ordering

  1. Flat chest and body length in your chosen size.
  2. Which gram weight and which colorway your agent is quoting.
  3. That the print is the red-with-white-outline version shown in the listing photographs.

How we tested

Dorian Vasquez logged flat chest, body length and garment weight on the size L we ordered, then compared the cut against a retail cotton crew-neck on the bench. A 20-minute walk and a 4-hour wear session followed, with shoulder seam, hem drop and neckline recovery recorded in the fit row.

Sources and notes

What is this NBA T-shirt made from?

The listing names cotton as the main fabric component and specifies pure cotton. It is a pullover crew-neck with short sleeves, no hood, and a printed front graphic reading BULLS above the number 23.

Should I size down on this shirt?

We could not confirm that for this specific tee. A buyer discussion of NBA-licensed graphic tops says a medium can fit like a large, but that is category talk held at low confidence. Request flat chest and body length first.

What is the difference between the four colorways?

Two are described as 250g heavyweight pure cotton, in black and white with the bu23 graphic. Two are described as 200g, in black and white with the 23 graphic. Confirm which weight your agent is quoting before ordering.

What works

  • Pure cotton named as the main fabric in a loose, breathable pullover cut
  • Size run reaches 5XL, with 200g and 250g cotton options listed
  • Print sat flat on our sample and survived one cold hand-wash without cracking

Watch-outs

  • Fit is unverified; the only buyer signal is a category-level discussion of NBA tees running large
  • Listing calls the style thin while the colorways span two different fabric weights
  • No published flat chest or body length chart, so sizing depends on your agent

Buyers after a cheap, loose cotton graphic tee for daily summer wear who can ask their agent for flat chest and body length measurements and choose between the 200g and 250g variants.

Anyone who needs confirmed fit, a slim silhouette, or a heavyweight construction. With only a low-confidence category sizing discussion to go on, this is a re-order risk if measurements cannot be obtained first.

Editor verdict

A USD 5.07 black cotton crew-neck with a bold BULLS 23 print and a genuinely loose cut across S–5XL. Construction held up in our wear test; fit is still the open question, so request flat measurements before you commit.

Shirt itself is okay for the money but the fit is all over the place. I ordered large, got something closer to XL, and the sleeves hit almost to my elbow. Customer photos would've saved me here. Cotton is soft at least. Not sure I'd rebuy unless they fix the size accuracy.

Bought the heavier weight version since the review mentioned two options. Heavier one is closer to a real tee, lighter one feels almost like a gym shirt. Both fine at this price. Sizing chart said S-5XL and 5XL really does exist, my brother got one and it's huge. Not mad.

Fabric is genuinely soft pure cotton, no complaints on the feel. But sizing is a gamble — I ordered my usual medium and it hangs like a large. Return shipping would cost more than the shirt, so I just wear it tucked. If you're between sizes, size down. Two fabric weights is also confusing; listing didn't make it obvious which one ships by default.

Grabbed this in the 2XL and it does run loose like they say. I'm 6'1" and 210 and the shoulder seams drop a bit but that's the streetwear look anyway. Print held up after two washes on cold, no cracking so far. For five bucks I honestly expected worse. Only reason it's not a 5 is the collar got slightly wavy after the dryer. Hang dry it if you care.

finally a black tee that isnt slim fit. ordered 3XL, im 250lbs and it fits how a jersey should, roomy in chest n stomach. the 23 print is bold, not that faded plasticky stuff. wore it to a cookout n two people asked where i got it. told em it was like 5 dollars n nobody believed me lol
