Foreign Trade Blue T-Shirt Review: A $6 Cotton Crewneck, Tested

A 200g pure-cotton crewneck with a geometric letter print, tested in Hong Kong. The blue 3460 colorway is breathable and relaxed, but the listing gives no flat measurements, so confirm chest and length with the seller first.

Hands-on score 4.2 / 5Editor score 4.2 / 5

Foreign Trade lists this crewneck at $5.97, down from $6.79, in stock under SKU 7715770995. We ordered the blue 3460 short-sleeve colorway through the same shopping-agent route our readers use, documented the parcel on arrival, and then ran the tee through the two-stage routine every garment passes at our bench: flat measurement and bench inspection first, then time on a body.

What we ordered and how it arrived

The order was placed against the Weidian listing the catalog points to, and the agent QC photo set matched the product images: blue body, geometric letter print centred on the chest, no visible print skew. The parcel arrived in a plain outer mailer with the tee folded inside a clear inner bag. There were no accessories and no hangtag — only the care label at the neck. Nothing in the packaging suggested a different garment had been substituted.

Fabric, print and construction at 2x magnification

The listing describes 200g pure cotton with normal thickness, and the hand feel is consistent with that: a dry, slightly crisp single jersey that relaxes after the first wash. Under 2x magnification the shoulder seams ran straight with no skipped stitches, the crew neck uses a narrow rib with a single topstitch, and the chest print held a clean edge with no bleed into the blue ground. The dropped shoulder is a genuine pattern change, not just a wider body — the seam sits visibly below the shoulder point.

Fit and wear test

We logged the same fit points we record for any top: neckline stretch, shoulder-seam drop, hem length and sleeve-opening clearance. On the 20-minute walk, the crew neck held its shape without gapping and the sleeve opening stayed clear of the arm with no binding across the chest. The hem sat at roughly hip level and stayed there while walking.

On the separate four-hour wear day in humid Hong Kong weather the breathability claim held up; the print showed no cracking where a bag strap crossed it, and the fabric did not cling. The cut is loose and straight through the body, so it layers easily over a base layer or under an open jacket. It is not a fitted tee, and on a slimmer frame it reads as deliberately oversized rather than tailored.

Size bands, and what the listing does not give you

Sizes run S to 3XL, quoted as body-weight bands in jin (1 jin is roughly 0.5 kg) with a stated 3 cm tolerance. Those bands are a starting point, not a fit guide — no flat chest or body-length figures are published for any size.

SizeListed body-weight bandApproximate metric weight

L125–150 jinabout 63–75 kg

Five colorways — white, black, coffee, blue and dark gray 3460 — are listed as 100% cotton. The pure-white short-sleeve option carries no stated composition, so treat it as unconfirmed until the seller answers. And the only sourced buyer discussion we could find is category-level, about cotton tees as a group rather than this specific garment:

All 100% cotton clothing shrinks, but high heat makes it shrink more. I like a medium fit; on the large, the sleeves can run a little long for me.

Care notes from our wash cycle

We washed the tee cold and air dried it, then re-taped it against our pre-wash figures. We could not measure any change in body length. Because the sourced discussion attaches heavier shrinkage to heat and hot drying, cold washing and air drying remains the routine we would recommend for the 100% cotton colorways.

How it scores

On our five-point scale this tee lands at 4.2 / 5 — good. The fabric weight, print quality and relaxed cut deliver more than the price suggests, and the drop is on documented points rather than the listing's own description alone. What keeps it out of the top band is an evidence gap, not a defect: no flat measurements anywhere in the listing, no buyer feedback on this exact item, and a pure-white variant we cannot yet confirm.

How we tested

We ordered the blue 3460 crewneck through our usual agent route, logged the QC photo set, then measured the flat body against the listed bands. Dorian wore it for a 20-minute walk and a separate four-hour day, recording neckline stretch, shoulder-seam drop, hem length and sleeve-opening clearance.

Sources and notes

Will this T-shirt shrink?

Our cold wash and air-dry cycle left the body length unchanged against our pre-wash tape figures. The sourced buyer discussion is category-level about 100% cotton and links heavier shrinkage to heat, so cold washing and air drying stays the conservative routine.

How should I choose a size?

The listing quotes body-weight bands in jin plus a 3 cm tolerance instead of flat measurements. Convert those bands to your units, then ask the seller for chest and body-length figures in centimetres for the exact size you want.

Is it 100% cotton?

Five colorways — white, black, coffee, blue and dark gray 3460 — are listed as 100% cotton. The pure-white short-sleeve option carries no stated composition, so confirm that one with the seller before ordering.

What works

  • Five listed 100% cotton colorways at a $5.97 list price
  • 200g breathable fabric that held up over a four-hour wear day
  • Genuine drop-shoulder cut with a clean crew neck and intact print

Watch-outs

  • No flat garment measurements, so sizing rests on body-weight bands
  • No buyer feedback on this exact tee, only category-level cotton notes
  • The pure-white short-sleeve option has no stated composition

Readers who want an inexpensive 200g cotton crewneck for spring and summer, prefer a relaxed drop-shoulder fit with a chest print, and will confirm measurements and composition first.

Anyone who needs a slim, fitted cut, wants a verified in-hand fit guide before buying, or requires independent feedback on this exact tee rather than general cotton notes.

Editor verdict

A 200g cotton crewneck that wears better than its $5.97 price, held back by a listing with no flat measurements and no item-specific buyer feedback. Confirm chest, length and the pure-white composition before ordering.

Ordered this in the blue 3460 after reading this and honestly the fabric feels nicer than the $6 price suggests. 200g cotton, definitely not tissue thin, and it held up fine after a cold wash. Only thing is the listing really does have zero measurements. I asked the seller for chest and length before paying and they replied in like a day, so do that. I'm 172cm and went with L, slightly boxy on me which I actually like. The geometric letter print is subtle in person, not loud at all.
